Cris-Tim, leader on the cold cuts market in Romania, invests constantly in technology and research in order to offer its customers natural and healthy products. Over the last 3 years, the investments have amounted to approximately EUR 24 million.
Following the offer diversification of the producers of spices and after having conducted several tests within Cris-Tim Group's Laboratory of Research and Development, Cris-Tim found the best natural alternatives to traditional additives used for producing cold cuts. This resulted in the improvement of both quality and taste for Cris-Tim products.
In 2011, Cris-Tim invested EUR 4 million in High Pressure Processing (HPP) Technology, thus reaching the highest standards regarding food safety and consumer protection. HPP is already used at an International level and uses a 100% natural and non-invasive method, that hasn't been used in Romania before and that represents a next-generation food protection system. This technology maintains products fresh and savory and helps improve their quality. It consists in immersing already packaged and labeled products in cold water, at a high level of hydrostatic pressure. This kills bacteria, preserves the meat and doesn't affect the nutritional value and the organoleptic properties of the products.
Starting this year, Cris-Tim included in its offer, for the first time in Romania, cold cuts without preservatives or artificial coloring. The company launched Vitality and Forzoso, two brands of additive free cold cuts, the latter being addressed to children.
What is more, as a natural response to market demands, Bunea Haiducul (Bunea the Outlaw) brand was born. This brand includes traditional products prepared after original recipes. The products are considered to be traditional because of the manufacturing process and are attested as such by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The new Cris-Tim products are based on nutritional principles and follow the highest standards for raw material. They fall into the category of "clean label", which means that they do not contain additives or artificial preservatives while the ingredients are easily recognized by consumers. Moreover, where possible, traditional cooking is used, with minimal processing.
Cris-Tim's constant care for the customers' well-being and satisfaction made it the most trustworthy cold cuts brand in Romania. For 4 years in a row, Cris-Tim was awarded the Trusted Brands distinction at the meat category. Moreover, among the 50 most powerful Romanian brands, Cris-Tim climbed from the 15th place to the 7th place, last year.
