Our first store! 12 sqm. Those were the exciting years after the 1989 Revolution, when everyone in Romania began to discover capitalism, the market economy and the free market. Then and there, the Cris-Tim dream, as well as the strength and the spirit that have made Cris-Tim what it is today were born.
Our first cold cuts factory. Daily Capacity: 2 tons. It was then when Mr. and Mrs. Timiş understood that they can achieve anything they set their mind to, if they do it with joy, and with their customers’ satisfaction at heart.
The year of the “Săsesc” Salami! The famous “Săsesc” Salami is the best-selling, highest-rated, best known salami in Romania. Once again, Cris-Tim made a difference. The “Săsesc” Salami commercial was and still is a case study in the advertising textbooks. It is also a topic of discussion and a reason for pride for advertising agencies, then and now. Cris-Tim notoriety is firmly established andfrom then on, Romanians would set aside a special place into their shopping carts for Cris-Tim products.
Cris-Tim expanded its product range with the raw-dried meat products. For this range of product we buildt a new factory in the town of Filipestii de Padure. This plant was at the center of what we call today the “Recunostinta (Recunostinta) Factory”, the newest and most modern production unit of the Cris-Tim group. 2003 was also the year when we set a new strategic goal: our entire production will follow the standards established by the European Community.
We completed the “Recunostinta” project by adding two new plants, for the production of boiledboilded smoked salamis, hams and specialties. The building and the equipment follow to the letter theEU regulations. Moreover, the plants meet all the EU food safety standards and environmental requirements.
In 2009 Cris-Tim reported a record turnover, launched daring projects and received the Trusted Brand Award. This is also the year when we start to feel the first signs of the international financial crisis that will have a magnitude and effects hard to predict at the time.
For the first time in Romania, Cris-Tim implements the High Pressure Processing (HPP) Technology, which is a 100% natural food preservation method. 2011 was also the year when Cris-Tim added to its portfolio a well beloved Romanian brand, “Matache Măcelaru’” (Matache the Butcher). While all the other companies were focusing on cutting down costs, Cris-Tim invested in research and development.
Cris-Tim stands out again. The group introduces Vitality, the first brand of cold cuts which are free from artificial additives and preservatives. It also creates “Mândruţa” (The fair one), its first brand of milk products.”Mândruţa” pride itself with its product tracing system, from the sowing of the seed to the milk bottle on the shelf.
